“At Peace” by Brian Childers

Robert Lamb

Welcome, Call to Worship, Confession of Sin, & Psalm

Rev. Lauren J. McFeaters

Philippians 4:4-7

Prayer of Confession
Holy and merciful God,
in your presence we confess
our failure to be what you created us to be.
You alone know how often we have sinned
in wandering from your ways,
in wasting your gifts,
in forgetting your love.
By your loving mercy,
help us to live in your light
and abide in your ways,
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Psalm 91

“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”

George Somerville, soloist, Marissa Chalker, piano & special guest, Todd

1. Joyful, joyful, we adore thee,
God of glory, Lord of love!
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee,
opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
drive the gloom of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness,
fill us with the light of day.

2. All thy works with joy surround thee;
earth and heaven reflect thy rays;
Stars and angels sing around thee,
center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
flowery meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain,
call us to rejoice in thee.

3. Mortals, join the happy chorus
which the morning stars began.
Love divine is reigning o’er us,
joining all in heaven’s plan.
Ever singing, march we onward,
victors in the midst of strife.
Joyful music leads us sunward
in the triumph song of life.

“Take My Life” arr. Craig Courtney

Steven Updegraff, soloist, Carol Fagundus, clarinetist & Noel Werner, pianist

Take my life, and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee:
Take my hands, and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.

Take my feet, and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee;
Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.

Take my silver and my gold,
not a mite would I withhold;
Take my moments and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my will and make it Thine,
it shall be no longer mine;
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne.

“Christ, Be Our Light”

Doug, Ingrid & Camille Ladendorf

Longing for light, we wait in darkness.
Longing for truth, we turn to you.

Make us your own, your holy people,
light for the world to see.

Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church, gathered today.

Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has power to save us.
Make us your living voice. Refrain.

Longing for food, many are hungry.
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others,
shared until all are fed. Refrain.

Longing for shelter, many are homeless.
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building, sheltering others,
walls made of living stone. Refrain.

Many the gifts, many the people,
many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another,
making your kingdom come. Refrain
